SOUNDS IN A ROOM

A monthly series of minimalist improvised experimental music at The Slide Room Gallery 2549 Quadra Street, Victoria BC

We are launching a new series in the SOUNDS IN A ROOM program: RE_MOTE
RE_MOTE will present the work of two musicians from different parts of the world. Each artist will independently be providing video documentation of a 15 minute improvised composition created for the series. The two videos will then be played back simultaneously, for the first time at RE_MOTE, creating a singular composition.
Artists for the first RE_MOTE on June 22 will be announced soon. View high resolution

Our next edition of SOUNDS IN A ROOM will focus on pre-recorded sound with four remote musicians independently interpreting a score by Jamie Drouin. Their four recorded components, posted as digital files, will be played as a single one hour composition exploring notions of chance, superimposition of spaces, and divisions of silence.
Featuring:
Johnny Chang (Germany)
Hervé Boghossian (France)
Seiji Morimoto (Germany)
Lance Austin Olsen (Canada)
